Post: PS2 Free codebreaker (cheat engine) working with Freemcboot exploit

Remember when you could cheat through an old game you had on the ps2? Well if you soft modded your console with freemcboot (my tutorial here: You must login or register to view this content.) you can run a homebrew program to bring back your cheating winstreak! Keep in mind this also works with your esr backed up games.
ok getting started, (i recommend you have your USB stick handy) you will need to download the codebreaker.elf file itself. here is my personal file: You must login or register to view this content.
make a folder on the root of your memory stick called freemcboot. throw this file inside (along with any other homebrew you have. this will keep them organized) now head to your console. hit the uLaunchelf option to go to the filebrowser. here you can pop in your game.
browse to the CBv92.elf homebrew and hit circle. it will boot up the codebreaker. here is something you cant forget or you will get a black screen when you start the game: BEFORE YOU HIT START GAME, TAKE THE USB STICK OUT OF THE PLAYSTATION
before you do anything, go to the options menu and take the auto eject option off (the disk you want to cheat on should be in already at this point)
now go and select your cheats and hit start game. you will boot up ulaunch elf. why? this version of codebreaker is modded so that if you are using a backup of a game you can start ESR or boot it off your external hdd/USB.
for legit sony disks: once ulaunch is started, go to the misc folder and hit browser. it will take you back to the browser and load up your game with the cheats on.
ESR disks: once ulaunch is started, go to the MC1 folder then to the BOOT folder. hit ESR and bam done. ESR will load then hit the first option to start your game with cheats.
ohhh and to add cheats visit You must login or register to view this content. and register then from the main site click the cheats tab. then sony playstation two on the left side. find your game in the alphabetical sorting and download the .cbc file.
take the .cbc file and put it on the root of your USB stick. load up codebreaker and select Day1 on the right side. select the name of the game you downloaded and select add. you do not have to save the config. if you do not, however, you will have to go back to the day one option to put the cheats in the list.
once you add the cheats, go to the cheats list and find the game you added. select your cheats and hit start. pull out your USB stick and continue as normal

Really? FreeMCBoot, this codebreaker elf have been around over 4 years now. btw i have version 10 patched if you need/want it. works with day1 files, not sure if this guys 9.2 elf is day1 patched or not. mines set to boot esr from mc, if no esr, hdloader from usb, if no hdloader, will load uLaunch from mc so you can cogswap if you so choose. Also, you dont need to take the pen drive out. Not sure why he stated that. my pen drive dont leave my console. ever.

if they have been around so long and you apparently are an expert then why havent you posted anything on this subject? I have an install tutorial sticky and two other threads related to this and yes this elf is Day1 patched. downloaded some yesterday. and i dont know why it doesnt work if you dont take the pen drive out but it doesnt. thats why i said it. try not to flame?

If you thought I was flaming, you need to get off the forums. Secondly, I've only been a member here for a few months, and third I'm into the PS3 scene now, PS2 is outdated n hacked. I know everything I need to for it, so I don't need to visit the section.

esr was released as early as 08, freemcboot arrived shortly before it. jimmikaelkael provided freemcboot May '08, and ffgriever did so for esr in June '08. The codebreaker elf's however have been flying around the net even longer, as far back as '06, if not earlier. I've been playing backup games on my PS2 for nearly a decade, starting with swapping discs while the drive still spun. This only worked right with PSX games though.
Anywho, I wasn't even talking to you. Was talking to the guy who just found this, and letting him know I have a newer version of codebreaker if he'd like it.
