Cost ~ The router comes free when you subscribe to Virgin Media; which is around £15 per month
Does it ever lag ~ It only ever lags if the host has a bad connection or if I have been downloading music or films throughout the day (Virgin cut the speed of heavy bandwidth users when downloading between 4pm - 9pm) and the speed will be a bit slower.
When you host the match it is better to have a faster upload speed and some ISP's offer high download speeds but slower upload speeds as they are not proportional to each other.

just get the linksys wireless g router i had ps3 i used this router wireless and wired and i rarely had lag ethier way i dont know the price bc i didnt buy it its way better then netgear anything netgear makes just buy it you wont have any problem with your internet if you do look for a new person to get internet from
