(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); I checked my email today, and I've received an email from Sony saying that they are offering Canadians PSN users, 1 year of CSIdentity protection for free. Here's the email:
You must login or register to view this content.

So, did anyone else (mainly Canadians, I assume based on the email) receive the same email? and did any U.S or U.K PSN users receive the same offer previously from Sony? Also, how does the CSIdentity protection work? What will it protect..? Will it protect my PSN account? or my email address?

PS: This seems kind of late considering PSN was hacked about 4 months ago. /facepalm

.... And I can't believe I totally ignored the email :dumb:
I'll read it, but were they suppose to send an activating code? Or something?

From what I understand, you just have to follow the link, and enter your email address that you've signed up with your PSN account. Afterwards, they'll send you an activation code, and you just enter it on the CSIdentity site. Let me know if I'm wrong.

This is for a year and it is for people who are concerned about identity theft on their PSN account. Account holders must be residents of Canada with active accounts as of April 20, 2011. You have to submit your email address that you used for your PSN account by October 3rd. It's free, so what the hell.

Yeah, that's what I thought.. It'll only protect your PSN account, so it really isn't that beneficial in my opinion. However, since it's free, it's pretty cool.
