Is there a way to do it with a ps2 controller because i have a ps2 to ps3 adapter but theres no xmb button on a ps2 controller so can someone help me!

Only PS3 controllers work in recovery mode, what is wrong with the controller?

if it's just in the recovery menu and you haven't pressed anything just unplug it if you haven't tried it, it won't do anything to it.

Yea but I messed up the hard drive so it started like when you first buy it so i have to reconfigure it. I tried restarting it but it wont go away until configure it.
