I'm posting this as an update to what happened from the thread above. Long story short, I sent sony my original launch date 60gb system and they sent back a working one on 3.30 FW. So it seems like good news for people wanting homebrew. I don't know what a used one off ebay costs but this one cost me 129 and I'm not worried about it ylod'ing on me anytime soon. Also the plastic casing is absolutely brand new. Not a single scratch on it unlike my original.

Yeah I found it strange that I got one with a fw from before they even removed "other operating system." Should I update it to 3.41 or just go ahead to 3.55? I have a current fw slim as well.
