When you say both cables are you saying you tried the different HD and SD cords? If you only used one cord then it is the cord. If not then it is probably best for you to send it in.

nope i actually blew all the dust out (with my mouth :P :carlingSmile and hasnt fallen kicked.
crashed while playing cod4 yesterday morning, restarted and half an hour later this came up.
since then i have left it and run tests and tried recovery mode and formatted hd and such.
this comes up all the time, sometime the ps3 doesnt even boot to XMB
ive let it rest and then tried again and left overnight unplugged and nothing :(

To start out with, blowing out the system with your mouth is a bad thing. Second, system crashing is the worst thing that can really happen, I think something may have corrupted.

When you formatted, did you do the quick reformat or do a full complete 10 hour reformat, if you haven't done that do it. It will erase everything and put it back like how you got it, minus the fact of current firmware.

it was the quick format but i dont think its the HDD.

Give it a try, if this doesn't work then I may be thinking that that the component may be bad. If push comes to shove, give Sony's customer service and give them information on what is happening. You may need to send it in.
