And also I am wanting to buy a HD PVR but this is a topic I don't know much about. The main question is that will it record your voice through the mic? And also would a Hauppauge HD PVR 1212 Receiver be good enough for one?

yes it will, depending how you put he output settings on the ps3

From what I was reading the PX3 is a good Mic,It's a 7.1 surround sound mic is that's also good. I like how the headset also kills all background noise so if you like to sound whore then that will come in handy they are a wireless headset so you don't have to worry about so much wires and also come's with rechargeable batteries and good benefit also it's a muti-platform headset so you can use it on xbox,ps3,pc and mac.

Regarding the HD PVR it is a good choice to record with but if you don't want to drop $200 on a Pvr until you see how your channel is going I recommend you buy a Blitz box or a Dazzle capture card just for now but if you have no problem dropping $200 on the Pvr that's your best choice.

And alot of people who do commentaries who I know they either bought the Blue snowball microphone or a rockband mic I know lol but it works.
