I have it un plugged for about 3 hours now. I plan to plug it back in and try again when I get home tonight about 1am or so..Thats 10 Hours unplugged. Will this problem keep occuring or will i need a new PS3

You probably have had alot of dust accumulate in your PS3 for a long time. Try clearing it out or else put your PS3 on a table or something other than the carpet. Carpet conducts heat = over heats ps3.

Yes, I 'm going to move it and put it somewhere else and try for dust and all that. Its just with MW3 coming out next week I cant afford a new ps3 :/

and make sure to keep it far from walls or in corners or in tight places that's where it gets hot! :y:

Tip: When cleaning your ps3 make sure to not to remove anything from inside your ps3 unless you read a guide then you will be safe .. :love:

make sure ur ps3 is not in any enclosed area like a unit or something , make sure nothings on top on it (shelves) and dust it once in a a while had mine like 3 years now
