I fixed it and it starts and runs fine now, but my controller stopped charging via the USB cable into the PS3. I tried the disconneting the controller, pulling the power cord out of the wall, pressing the reset button on the controller, connecting the controller back to the PS3 via the USB cable, plugging the PS3 back into the wall, flipping the switch in the back of the PS3 to on, then hitting the PS button on the controller and still nothing. It connects fine, but does not charge. I took the cord out of the PS3, controller still connected to it, and stuck it in my computer and it charges fine with computer as it is now. There's something wrong the USB ports on the PS3, I would assume. Any ideas? Something I can fix in the PS3? I greatly appreciate the help.

Sounds like the battery in the controller is stuffed have to Tryed a sec control

could be a dodgy cord, could have damaged the ports while reparing, its a bit coincedental the battery going dead just as you fix it, i would ry another cable, then crack it back open and have a look at your ports where they connect to the board
