Post: ps3 usb ports not working
11-13-2011, 11:20 PM #1
(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); yesterday I revived my ylod ps3 using the oven method. Everything seems to be working but the usb ports. I wanted to back up my game saves but the system wont recognize my thumb drive. This will really become a problem if I have to resync my controllers using a usb cable. Can anyone help me?

Had a look around and couldnt find one but you could try this. Go to Settings, System Settings and then Restore Default Settings.

Unfortunately not everyone has a heatgun, and for the cheap buggers, theyll do anything to save a buck *facepalm*

During the oven method, the WHOLE board is heated up to the point that all the solder melts, this risks other components that were originally working to fail, your usb ports have most probably have a broken connection, try pulling apart and having a close look at the ports edges, can attempt to fix if you can see a broken link/nill solder.

I just realized that when the board is out, it would have most likely been leaning on the usb ports when on the tray in the oven yes? If so it has lifted the ports slightly up,or simply broken the links, either way, ull need to run a heatgun over or attempt to solder.
