A new game will be revealed every two days, however once a new one is revealed the old one is removed so be quick to download them. The 12 games include eight PSN titles, two minis and two PSOne Classics. The next game will be revealed December 3rd.

They are only free as long as you're a playstation plus subscriber. You only keep avatars and themes and discounted items that you've bought with PS+ I believe.

Free items from PS+ expire when your PS+ Expires, apart from avatars and Themes.
if you buy them at a discounted price, or pay anything towards it, its yours to keep forever.
