Post: Ps3 fan problem

(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); i just repaired my 40gb phat ps3 with a hairdryer Smile (it had ylod), the only problem know is that when i turn it on the fan just starts going really loud. is there anything i can do to fix this and is it safe to play it or will it like blow up? the fan is clean, there's no dust in there.

well part of it is your system probly didnt get completely fixed, the ps3 comes with cheap thermal paste, so ot could of wore off, this keeps cpu and gpu from getting to hot, so maybe its getting to hot and causing your fan run on over drive, or it could have to do with the solder on cpu and gpu. but no its not going to blow up, but theres a good chance it will get ylod again and again until a proper repair is done

i replaced the thermal paste with artic silver 5. it just gives me an error message after 5 min saying the system has become too hot. if i unplugged the fan will it still work

If you reflowed it you may have damaged the heat sensor (it's what I did) :p , there's not much you can do I'm afraid
