(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Ok bought my mates 5 year old ps3 was all working but wouldent read disks new lazer and it worked fine

now a day later whenever i turn it on i just get red light

best and most reliable fix what would it be?

get it reballed?
or do it myself?
or get it reflowed by a professinal

Or is it just not worth it???the ps3 inside has no dust its very clean and has been looked after

If you get it reballed, it will be fixed "permanently" but most expensive
If you did it yourself, it will most likely work for 1 week to 1 month (Personal experience and heard from others) *Cheapest way
Professional reflow could last between 2 months to 6 months depending how and who does it
Its up to you really. I would say just buy a new ps3 slim ($250) and sell that one for parts.

beleive this if u want to

last night my neighbour came round( his gf's brothers ps3 was playing up again) i fixed it last time

was rlod'ing within 5 seconds of switching on

so i stripped the ps3 right down to the fan

undid the screws on the fan and then put the ps3 back together but with the fan hanging out of the ps3

screwed everything back down

then performed a fan test (at 1st this wasnt doing the fan test was unresponsive to the fan test)

hold eject and press the power switch on the back

fan test worked (as i thought the fan wasnt spinning as i couldnt hear it moving)

undid everything again and pt everything back then booted it up

no rlod and was able to boot mw3 up

hey man,

i would advise you to either reball it so that it doesn't break again, or sell it for parts and buy a new slim, the other options are less reliable IMO,

hope i helped,

From what I heard, it won't break again. But do some research to fully understand and get the correct information.
