Ok so my ps3 recently stopped reading discs. But im not sure its this issue. The problem with my ps3 is that its not that it wont read discs its that it freezes them

Lets say im playing MW2 and after every match my ps3 will freeze. Then later it will stop showing up on my XMB like its not reading it.

I did a full restore of the PS3 and i cleaned the blu ray lens (i think) My lens looked like this:

I didnt know which one to clean so i cleaned them both since all the guides show the old laser.

Now when i try to play again the same shit keeps happening. Is my entire blu ray drive dead? Cause it still reads the disc.

This happened to me back in '09 ith my 80gb

The blue ray reader is burnt out. If you have a phat system SONY will no longer accept it for servicing, I believe. I sent mine in & it costs 150$ of course if they do service phat it would far cheaper than the 150$.

Check around local shops or craigslist for a shop that would fix it for far cheaper. If you are having a tough time figuring out what to do, keep in mind you can still play PSN games w/o issue.

its not the blu ray or the lens , its the disc track , its not picking up your disc correctly
