(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); I downloaded the Black Ops map packs to play zombies and they all took like 10 minutes each, but installing takes about 30 minutes... Everything used to install very fast, usually about 1/3 of the download time, but now everything installs very slow. I really need some advice on what I should do. I bought the Ps3 used, and then did a full restore because I wanted it to be like a new Ps3. I've been installing a 1600 MB download for about 5 minutes now and its only at 19%. Does anyone else experience this?

Its not the ps3, its your internet connection. Cancel download and reset router. If the problem persists, contact your ISP

It downloads fast, it just installs slow... How in the world is that my internet connection?

My bad, read that the wrong way. Off day today sorry stare
Its something within the download then, no way it should be a slow installation time unless your installing multiple things at one time.

I didn't know it was possible to install multiple things at once... It's very annoying. A 1600 MB download usually would take me 5 minutes at tops. This is very frustrating. By the time it is done downloading, I don't even want to play what I installed.

Yes, It took about 7 hours, I left it on overnight. The next day I set it up like a new Ps3. I don't know what to do... I sound like a nerd :(

Its something thats happening between the download and the installation, pointing to an HDD problem. Do you have an old HDD?

No, I've been using the one it came with. Do you think having alot of user can cause this? I have about 9 I think :p

Eh, the more thats on an HDD the slower it gets because of lack of space. But since you wiped it that shouldnt be the problem. It might be something with the harddrive itself. Sometimes they go corrupt out of nowhere, or if said ps3 has had ylod problems, etc.

My Ps3 always get the error message on start-up saying The HDD is corrupt, but i always just click Circle and it goes away, I'll let it do the scan next time maybe that'll fix it :/

Yeah I agree with Ownage. Sounds like a HDD error, but then again, my JB PS3 (loads younger than my official) and my official PS3 install at roughly the same rate: not very fast. Not entirely sure now that I think about it... hmm...

hey,

I would format the hard drive, try and backup everything you think is very important, start fresh again, then everything should be ok, if not then delete some of the users, I remember I had around 10, and when i deleted the ones that stopped working after PSN was hacked, PS3 sped up a lot,

hope i helped,

Mukdip
