Rockstar Games is still iffy on deciding whether or not to create a sequel to the detective-based world of L.A. Noire.

A Q&A was held on Rockstar's official website, and they announced that there will be no more DLC being created for the title, and as for a sequel, it's still a "big question mark".

"While there won’t be any more DLC or additional content for the current release of L.A. Noire (we’re all too busy working on Max Payne 3, GTA V and other games to come), don’t count out the possibility of a new game in the L.A. Noire franchise in the future," said Rockstar, "We simply have not decided anything."

They also said:

"We’re all very pleased with how that game turned out and are considering what the future may hold for L.A. Noire as a series. We don’t always rush to make sequels, but that does not mean we won’t get to them eventually – see Max and Red Dead for evidence of that – we have so many games we want to make and the issue is always one of bandwidth and timing."

L.A. Noire is a big hit among the public, selling a solid five million copies worldwide, and Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick commented on the game saying it's "a powerful new franchise".

What do you guys think? Should there be a sequel to L.A. Noire?[/color]

Do a barrel roll!
I liked L.A. Noire, but I'm really not sure if the direction the story went in would suit a sequel (perhaps a prequel?), and I also don't know if I really want to play another L.A. Noire game. They really can't put out a sequel with little overhaul of the core mechanics; I think people will get bored quickly, despite enjoying the first.

A prequel? Nah, because before Cole Phelps was a policeman he was in the army.

And a sequel wouldnt be very good because the whole game was based upon Cole going up the ranks and he has already reached the highest rank possible without sitting behind and office desk. The only real suitable option is probably to restart the game with a new character at an earlier or later point in time. And the game was supposed to be based around 1940's and 50's so I dont think they can do much. Cant see another L.A. Noire game.

Yeah, I agree with this. I was only questioning a prequel because I thought a sequel would make even less sense. I don't think this game can go anywhere, tbh.

I wouldn't mind a second LA Noire game. But the thing I really want Rockstar to do is another Red Dead game. I loved RDR.

Was a great game.
I personally would love to see a sequel.
I'm also still waiting for Read Dead Redemption 2.
Really want that to come out.

A prequel could be about him going through the ranks in the army. IMO, They should do a game about a small time gangster turning into an international pimp.

I loved the game when I first got it, however, once I was about 2/3 of the way through I stopped playing as I felt like the game was extremely repetitive. I still haven't finished the game since I stopped playing...that was about 5 months ago :/.
