With PAX East right around the corner, game developer Harmonix (known for the ubiquitous Rock Band series) let out
a couple interesting announcements regarding what they had in store for the event.

A tweet released by the official Rock Band Twitter account responded to a users question wanting hints if
there would be a new Rock Band game coming in the future. View the tweet below.

Obviously from the looks of it, it sounds as though a new Rock Band game is in the works, and Harmonix plans
to reveal it at the event in the coming weeks. However, in my opinion, I feel the music genre games have died out
tremendously. Guitar Hero was cancelled, and Rock Band has become somewhat less popular. Yet new content comes
out for Rock Band on a weekly basis. As a general question, if another iteration of the series comes out, will you purchase it?

I may actually buy this one..

I was more of a guitar hero player, never really got into rock band. I know essentially they're somewhat the same.
But Guitar Hero just felt different. I can't give an honest opinion on this whether to get it or not.

Never played either, wonder if this will be any good.

I played both series' quite extensively, and I always found RB to be the superior product (I have 1500+ pieces of DLC lol. yay for PS3 gamesharing with 5 people)

If a new Rock Band game did come out, I would buy it, but my intense love for the music genre is dwindling ever so more. I want to blame Mass Effect because thats all I have been playing for the past month! haha.

i have played both series

and rock band is way better.

I played Rock Band a couple times. It was fun and all, but just something about it didn't sit well with me.
Most likely because I grew up playing Guitar Hero :p

I still haven't experienced Rock Band 3 to its fullest. Without the keyboard or any of the pro instruments (plus loads of new songs to download) I feel like I personally need to invest more time and money in 3 before I consider looking at a fourth installment. It will be interesting to see what Harmonix comes up with though.
