Get some q-tips and alcohol. Use it to clean the lens, be very careful doing this, you might have dust on the lens. Do the same for the disks. I am curious as to what the eye is doing, you wouldn't happen to have one of those clear disks used as a place holder in a stack of cd's, or dvds? Use that and make sure it is trying to track the disk.

Put your PS3 into Safe Mode, and Restore PS3 system, i had the same same exact problem before, now it works perfectly.

Update: Cleaned laser, still no go. Tried restore same mess.


Now somehow Ps3 DVD movies work but no Blu ray. As you can see from the videos no Blu Laser even.

My question is by replacing the laser, am I messing up the marriage of the drive? Meaning can i just swap lasers and call it a day?

Exactly what happened to my PS3 i tried cleaning lens or restore and it didnt work so i will try to buy a new Disc Drive i think thats the solution for this.

If none of these video solutions work I recommend buying a new disc drive,
