If you guys are experiencing random sign out problem from the Sony Entertainment Network (formerly known as PSN), the solution is to change the DNS server manually.
Go into your network settings and use Google's DNS server: 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4
Tutorial: (check your ps3's IP from the Status before you start)
Network settings--> select custom --> wired or wireless--> when you are at IP part, manually input the above numbers in the primary and secondary DNS.

Go to the "
Settings and Connection Status list" under Network settings and memberize default gateway and IP address of your ps3. You will need this to enter if you're unsure of you IP range.
Network Settings --> Select custom --> Wired connection or wireless (doesn't matter) -->Auto Detect --> Select Manual under "IP Address Setting". Enter the IP address and default gateway which you saw in the status. Default Gateway is normally 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1. Enter 8.8.8.8 as primary dns and 8.8.4.4 as secondary. Hit right on the D-pad. -->MTU is automatic-->
