God of War IV has been rumored for quite some time now, and it looks like it may get an official reveal next week, as a God of War themed teaser titled “Will Vengeance Bring Redemption?” has just popped up on Facebook.


If you head over to the official PlayStation Facebook page, you’ll see that the massive image is dated “04.19.12″, one week from today, so fortunately we don’t have to wait very long to find out exactly what Sony’s got hidden behind the curtain.

If I were a betting man, I’d say that the teaser is likely in reference to a new God of War, probably a fourth proper installment. At the same time, one would think that Sony might want to save such a huge announcement for E3 and make a real splash at their press conference. Let’s also not forget that Sony does have another platform, so perhaps this teaser is in reference to a God of War title for the PS Vita.

Overnight, PlayStation added an image to its Facebook page. The message in the image: "Will Vengeance Bring Redemption? 04.19.12" That's it, but it hasn't stopped fans from wildly speculating. The most touted game in the Facebook comments just happens to be God of War IV, and that's a pretty likely guess.
First, the golden brown colors of the image fit previous God of War palettes. Second, season three of The Tester just wrapped up, and those kids were all vying for a job on the next "blockbuster" from Sony's Santa Monica Studio. Third, "vengeance" is kind of Kratos' thing. Of course, Title Fight has also been floating around the rumor mill recently, so who knows.

I think they need to stop milking the series. Its turning out to be like Assassins Creed series.

It's probably going to be a game for the Vita. GOW4 isn't coming out until 2013, so they don't need to
give a reveal trailer this early. Also, Sony's main focus right now is the Vita, so I would assume/guess this
teaser is related to that.

And also, the Assassin's Creed games may come out like clockwork, but they're better and better each time. (by
public opinion :p) Also, GOW has progressively gotten better with each iteration, with GOWIII being the best in the
series. If they see success, why not continue to flourish upon it?

Everyone has different opinions, especially about the Assassins Creed series lol. I just don't want to see the GOW series turn into something along the lines of the Assassins Creed series. Thats all.

By the looks of it, it seems like something Red dead related. but as mentioned above, its most likely God of war 4.:cereal:

I think Rockstar would do something themselves if it was Red Dead related. Also, they
have GTAV to worry about and I'm sure they aren't planning a RDR2 anytime soon. Either way I'm
excited for whatever game this may be

Yea i doubt it would be rdr 2 or anything of that nature,, im just really hoping its gow 4 or something for the vita
