Post: help finding full replacement housing for ps3 slim
05-24-2012, 01:04 AM #1
(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); My old phat ps3 recenetly died and I ended up getting a used slim ps3, the case however is in pretty rough shape (not too, too bad, but not great) I was looking to buy a replacement housing for my system, however I couldn't find anything besides, clear, stock matte black, and white. Can someone direct me to a site that has better selections? I wouldn't mind a red matte case. thanks

off topic:

from what I understand a ps3's hdd cannot be read on a computer or a different ps3 since it will format the data, is this correct? I wanted to extract my save games from old HDD. my broken ps3 is beyond repairable so i can't use that for extraction.

Uh sience when did they make red cases? You could get a black one or send your old one to colorwarepc.com and they will make it red Winky Winky

To your off topic you don't have to reformat the hdd, there is a trick that makes the drive not reformat. Ill try to find the tutorial.

Edit: here is your tutorial- You must login or register to view this content.

thanks, for most video game systems they have third party cases ranging in a bunch of colours. so I assumed there would be a red case housing for ps3 slim.

did you try this trick yourself? I've tried several times now without any success, just asks to check the HDD when I swap it, also the checking for update message is too fast. I'm going to try getting a second hdd tray from my friends slim to see if I can do it quicker. thanks anway
