(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Hey Guys,

My 60GB PS3 has the YLOD for a few months now, I was thinking about fixing it so I took it to a PS3 repair place and they said the GPU was fried.So now I'm thinking of sending it to Sony to get it fixed for a fee of $170, I would be happy to pay that but what if it breaks again? Also I have a slim.Has anybody repaired their ps3 with Sony? If so how was it? And what should I do? Send my PS3 60GB to Sony or not?

Thanks,

Your mother!
My 1st ever 60gb got the ylod and I shipped it out to $170. No joke, it got the YLOD in a week AGAIN. I think it was because of MW2 though. It got the ylod the 2nd time when MW2 came out and I remember thats when a whole bunch of people started saying that MW2 caused their PS3 to get the YLOD also. Its up to you. Im currently on my 3rd 60gb right now. Ive had it for about 2.5 years now. Im trading it in to Gamestop for $150 though. I just bought a PS3 slim today and I dont want my 60gb anymore.

Moved to PS3 questions

Repaired PS3s from sony are mixed. Sometimes they die fast others last ages.
GPU being repaired at a 3rd party shop unlikely to last.
