Just before Diablo 3's PC release last month, senior world designer Leonard Boyarski, told us Blizzard 's 'continuing to explore' the possibility of a console release, but he wouldn't officially confirm any plans.

Blizzard's COO Paul Sams said pretty much the same thing during a CVG interview in March, when he said that the studio is "not afraid" of multiplatform development. On the subject of a potential console release, he said: "We think that the way we built it for the PC may need some tweaking, but it will ultimately be the type of game that can really make sense and be really fun, well polished and a true Blizzard-level experience on a console."

Diablo 3 game director Jay Wilson also said the studio has never invested in console development to the degree that it has with Diablo 3, while lead designer Josh Mosqueira has said Blizzard's 'very serious' about making a console version. Surely it's just a matter of time before one's announced.

The idea of Diablo 3 PS3 console exclusivity might be hard to believe, but Sony has shown it's particularly accommodating to third party online services in the past. It's openness to Valve's Steam platform won over Gabe Newell and secured Sony the "best console version of Portal 2". Could it be that Sony has done the same with Diablo 3?

yes! this would be most enjoyable. TBH i dont much care for setting at my computer for hours on end playing Video Games.

That'll be great. Hope that 2012 is correct year cause already half of it has passed. Diablo is must have game definitely!

I would be interesting would get me to try the game out as i refuse to play games on pc.
