(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Hey guys. Last Night, my 3.55 FAT CECHH02 40Gb PS3 got YLOD. I've pulled it apart today, done the whole cleaning of the thermal paste, reflow and shit, but I have no Thermal Paste! I though i did. Is there any alternative to Thermal Paste?

Never mind guys, Somehow, even though I had no clue how to do anything at all, I happened to fix the YLOD already. All trial and error. So Simple!

yes, toothpaste is actually recommended as a thermal compound alternative. although, I've never tried it.

I had considered trying that, but I couldn't imagine it working all that great. Plus I wouldn't wanna try it on my trusty 3.55 PS3! haha.

thats what i was thinking when i tried fixing an old ps3 of mine (RIP) haha. If i were you, i would just head over to best buy or radio shack and grab some thermal compound just to be safe.

Make sure to get the Arctic Silver thermal compound. It's the best one they got at Radioshack.
