But these last few days its been really bad, it still works randomly it seems. But is very rare and takes hours of messing with it to get it to read a disc once. I have tried the menu restore, I have taken it apart and cleaned the lens and the whole ps3. (It worked 1 time after I did that, right after then the second time I tried didn't read discs and continues not to.) What should I do? I don't want to lose my CFW. I am scared if I get a new blu-ray drive it wont fix them problem or will make me update or something. What should I do to get this darn thing working?

Just replace the laser in the bluray drive.......

Yeah thats the only solution or do a system-data restore in the "secret" ps3 menu
