New multiplayer challenges will be made available every month. Completing the challenges will enable the player access to more of the game's Abstergo-based side-story.

“The multiplayer is so big today that it's already a game on its own,” Keiken told CVG. “We've been given the right to develop the Abstergo storyline since the beginning, which is a big responsibility.”

“As you progress in the game and level up your character, you access these files and videos. Every month you'll have new challenges to unlock new content that will continue the storyline throughout the year.”

“What are the real motivations behind Abstergo's sudden initiative to release such a revolutionary product to the public?" Keiken said. "A product that is redefining the way we're thinking, the way we're living...”

In Assassin's Creed: Revelations, extra files and video cut-scenes were offered to players as they advanced through the multiplayer ranks and completed challenges. Players took the role of an Abstergo Templar-recruit, training in the Animus. The files gave the player an insight to Abstergo's place in the world of Assassin's Creed.

In Assassin's Creed 3, the story goes that Abstergo has made the Animus device readily available to anyone, meaning they can participate in the killing right from the comfort of their home.

Assassin's Creed 3 is set to release October 30 for Playstation 3 and Xbox 360. PC players can expect it to release November 20.

I have been a big fan of AC since the beginning, but multiplayer not so much... I have just never found it as appealing as playing BF3 or COD multiplayer. I'm still definitely getting this game just probably won't bother with this multiplayer story thing.

I can agree with you here. I love Assassin's Creed and really enjoy the series. Recently I have been playing Revelations multiplayer, and as you have said it is not quite the same. I am persisting with it and I am hoping AC3 multiplayer will be even better.

Thanks for your comment.

This game sure looks like it's full of surprises. ACR disapointed me, but AC3 sure looks like it's going uphill again Smile
