Post: Update 4.25 Problems + Fix

(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); For those with problems after updating to version 4.25, involving an error code, perpetual update or no signal after update, here is a fix. From what I have found these are usually caused by having an upgraded hard drive.

You need to be able to either format your current hard drive or have an extra.

First, download the official update 4.25 You must login or register to view this content., instructions are found in more detail at the link if you don't know how to update with a usb.

Now you need to put a formatted, blank drive in your ps3, boot, and it will ask you to update via storage media. Put in your usb with the update and follow the on screen instructions to format and update.

Next you can put your upgraded hard drive back in, if you have one, and start up the system, it will once again tell you to update from storage media, although this time it should ask for version 4.25 or later. Install the update again. It won't format this time, and then you should be on 4.25 without issues.

This fix worked for me, and I had put a 250gb hard drive into a 120gb slim. This update left me with a black screen, no access to recovery, and later no signal output to my tv, now everything's working fine.
