Ps3 Console problems anyone help ??
Hi people
I have a ps3 with a 500gb hard drive and when i run it a error message comes up with ps3 is overheating and shuts down .
Any one know what could be the problem
Hard drive ?

Your PS3 is overheating :p
As to why i guess the fan is not working or the heat sensor is not working or you have a dust collection that needs to be removed or it on the way out.
Try cleaning your PS3 to get rid of the dust and see if that helps.

thank for that but removed all dust from inside the ps3 and still flashes green and red ....

What speed is the HDD and is it the right size ?

lol...upgrading ps3 hdd ftw!! mine had 40gb now 320gb and you say its not a good idea...maybe for ofw ps3 slims(3.56+ fw block the hdd i think)

I mean upgrading it a large amount. I've seen people punch in 1TB HDD's and wonder why their PS3 overheats.

if the hdd is 5400 rpm theres no problem of heating
