The bluray diode is weakening and it wont read dual layer discs. I have tried U3 on my friends slim and it wouldnt read it too. I've also tried on my nephew's ps3 fat 40gb and it worked perfectly. So by this, i can get to a conclusion: ps3 slim blu ray drive is weak and will eventualy have this problems. my nephew's ps3 fat has almost 5 years and had no problem at all with games.

I've not been lucky with ps3 till now: i've sold my xbox to buy a used ps3. i got home and started playing psn downloaded games, when later put a disc, it wouldn't read it. So i sent it to warranty and they sent me back a pretty much new ps3. I've played uncharted 3 with it for like 2 months, then it just wouldn't load the game and i thought it was something about the disc being scratch, but when i tried on a fat ps3 it worked and i was like WTF!!

Guess i will need to wait 1 or 2 months for a new one!

It might not be your blueray drive it could be the 4.25 fw read this link loads of people are havin problems

Sure it not the disc causing it ?
Not sure why the fat can read the disc and the slim can't.

i need to try other dual layer discs to make sure, but probably it's the drive. because the game used to work here and now it wont even start, error 8001002b. I've tried playing 1-2h of any other game, then tried to start uncharted 3 but it didn't change anything. And now i don't even know if i still have warranty.
