Im currently on 3.55 now and i had some problems with it and i thought i gonna reset formatt or something..

But if i restore format to default setting , then its auto updating to the latest firmwire?

Im not sure but i doubt it, and even if it does it will tell you it is. If you are unsure simple disconnect the ps3 from the Internet, easy fix.
