At least I can fight
same problem as me. I'd suggest just save up and either try to repair it yourself or take it to a repair shop like im gunna do.

I have a second 40 gig. Took hard drive out, turned up side down, and blow dried the shit out of it. Ylod'd 2 more times, maybe a week apart, and just kept on blow drying it both times and that was at least a month ago. Though a decent heat gun is on my "To Buy" list.2

If you do the hair dryer, don't blow the dryer into the side vents, I am pretty sure they will melt.
