(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); My cecha01 fatboy was running quiet hot with the stock fan, which was the 19 blade one, and the temps (Via multiman) were 75 Cpu 70 RSX and i immediately shut the system down and took it apart. Come to find out paste is dried out and crackling away, so i clear it up nicely and apply IC Diamond 7 thermal paste (I also have AC5, but i find ICD7 to be yield slightly better results)

I also replaced the stock 19 Fan blade with a 19 blade whisper fan (Just to add a bit more help). The minute the PS3 starts it starts on level 1 of fan speed, moves to 2 then automatically max speeds all in a matter of 5 seconds.

I check multiman - CPU: 45 RSX: 42 - So it's neither of them ... could it be something else? Ram chips? Faulty whisper fan? Whisper fan itself? Thermal paste needs to cure?

I don't mind the noise, if it helps benefit my playstation i'll leave it, but im just curious and a bit worried.

Could be the thermostat.......reading it wrong.
Not sure how hot is too hot due to the PS3 being so put into a small area.

does it always kick in to max speed? my ps3 fan goes to max speed when i play heavy graphics games (batman , nfs , etc ) but it goes back to lvl 1 speed if i quit the game been like that for 2 years and never gotten rrod
