I'm trying to set up a media server on my computer and playstation so i can play all my music, look at all my pictures and videos on my ps3.

I followed this video to 100% and it isn't work.



When I search for a media server it shows 0 results. So can I please have a resolution.

I turned off Windows Media Player when I put Windows 7 on my laptop. I use VLC Player. When I came across this, I then turned Windows Media Player back on, and followed the video.

Did you make sure; your internet is enabled, your media server is enabled, both under Network settings.

Also, the guy in the video said the PS3 that comes up as Unknown will automatically be disabled, mine was already on Allow. I did have to turn on Windows Media Sharing, but when I was on the media player and clicked Stream > Automatically allow devices to play my media tab, Windows automatically prompt me asking if I wanted to turn on file sharing. I think that is just because when I installed my Windows, I turned that off.

I don't know how far away the PS3's Media Server can connect to a device, my Playstation and Laptop are on the same table, so I would just think make sure you are close enough?

It found my laptop just fine, though my movies are getting an error 80710723 and not playing, and my music is getting an error 80030928. So I am going to look into those.

I would just double check and go back and trace your steps.

Ok, I think my error codes, are on my router end. As I don't have the best of internet connection. I also have someone playing BO2 online while I am trying to do this on another PS3.

I did encounter 0 media servers found. I just disabled Media Servers, then enabled, and instead of searching for them, I just the PS3 automatically pick up my laptop, than I continued.

I didn't have any luck after setting up the Media Server. Couldn't watch a movie or song, and I would get an error during the coping of either.

@J-Glips, would it be possible for you to please team view me.

Maybe if I knew what that meant. :mad:
