i would send it in but you wont get a slim you get what you have wether its a 40 60 or 80gb my friend just sent in his 40 and got a new 40gb...but also have a friend that sent in his PS3 9 times for YLOD and they never gave him a new one and it was all the same thing even tho PS said it was something different he went out n got a new one on his own after he got it back the 9th time but i would try it good luck
