If your smart enough you can make platinums lead to alot of things especially income.

Some people find it entertaining, some people use it to win auctions. () I never was interested in them, only for one game and that's because it was literally the best game that I have ever played on my PS3 and that was Burnout Paradise. I played that game for hours and it never got boring, so I decided to go for trophies because it was very entertaining. Other than that I do not go for them, mainly because I hardly play on consoles seeing as I am an avid PC gamer. I say whatever makes you happy on your console go ahead and do it. I just never saw the point in buying games for the sole purpose of getting trophies, even when those games are horrible.

I don't like them, I never liked the M$ original achievements and it was sad that sony copied it and brought it to PS. I can understand why people like them but I don't find trophy hunting fun and I'd rather just turn them off all together. Turning off display notifications is not enough you should just be able to disable it all.

People just like them for what they are, achievements for doing particular things in games, and also to compete with friends.

Some people are just more in to them than others :p

It's personally gratifying to beat the hell out of a game until you get a platinum, and it looks good on your PSN profile.

I would think that trophies mean a lot more to the hardcore gamer. As for the typical CoD player, we don't really give a fuck haha
