so ive heard from several people that if you get the yellow light of death you should blow a fan on it for about 24 or more hours.
note: this is only a temporary fix and you will get YLOD again you just keep doing this trick.
so can anyone here confirm weather or not this works
YLOD is a symbol of many different problems it doesn't mean just one.
For example what your post says to me that your fixing an overheat which will cause YLOD untill it cools dow but there is also a YLOD for HDD failure, power supply failure and just plain your ****ed failure.
yes i agree with above, it sounds like an overheating problem, if it were the motherboard and adding new heat paste and pads id be able to help you sorry, i dont know much about overheating but im guessing you might need to replace the ps3 fan and heatsink maybe? :/
