(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Hey guys!! What's up! I'm here to bring a quick and simple tutorial on getting rid of the red screen of death on your PS3!!
And I'm gonna start out with a disclaimer that this has not proven to work for everybody! But you are always up to give it a shot ya know?
Ok let's get started!!
What you're gonna want to do is go to Sony's website and download the latest software!! 4.66 is what you're gonna want to look for! (Not 4.60) and now go ahead and download that! And while that's downloading head on over to your PS3 and put it into safe mode >> Step 1: Turn off the PlayStation 3 by holding the Power button on the front of the unit till the Power light is red.

Step 2:

Touch and hold the Power button (do not remove your finger from the button). You will hear the first beep, meaning the PlayStation 3 is powering on.
Continue to hold the Power button and after about 5 seconds, you will hear a second beep, indicating the video reset.
Continue to hold the Power button and after about another 5 seconds you will hear a third beep and the system will power off (Power light is red).
Step 3:

Touch and hold the Power button (again, do not remove your finger from the button). As in Step 2, you will hear the first beep, again for the PlayStation 3 to power on.
Continue to hold the Power button and after about 5 seconds, you will hear a second beep for video reset.
Continue to hold the Power button and after about another 5 seconds you will hear a quick double beep. At that point release the Power button. If you succeeded in activating Safe Mode, you will see a message on the screen saying, "Connect the controller using a USB cable and then press the PS button."

Ok now that you are in safe mode go ahead and hit the factory rest option! And let that go through! Once it's done you should be back at the red screen of death! Put your PS3 back into safe mode and hover over the update PS3 option!
Now move on over to your laptop and make sure your download is finished and go ahead and put it into the USB and plug your USB into the PS3! And go ahead and click on the update button! And the PS3 should detect a file for update! And go ahead and click the update and your PS3 will update!! Once the update is finished your PS3 will restart and you will be good to go! And enjoy being back online and using your PS3!!

So basically this tut in simple terms is to attempt to reinstall the latest ofw/Cfw via recovery menu to fix the RSOD issue ???
The method I use to fix the RSOD and has constantly worked for me to date is by flashing your patched Nor/Nand dump to the console using a hardware flasher, this method is yet to fail for me :-)
