MY thoery is that i think i may have a bandwith problem

i have a cabled connection and optimum online

this is a list of everything i have connected to my linksys router

1 computer

2 phones ( dont ask why i have 2 phones)service: Lingo ( similar to calling someone threw the internet )

1 laptop ( in use somtimes by my bro)

and my PS3

all of them are connected by an ethernet cable stright into the router

Also it seems like when someone calls me the phone uses up all of the bandwith and then i disconnect

is there anyway to keep the phone from steeling bandwith from the PS3




This never happened before when i only had my computer and Ps3 connected to the router Back then i also used verizon so my phones werent connected threw the internet.

ok i did a little testing after i disabled the 2 phones it worked flawlessly
i never d/ced and never lagged
after i pluged the 2 phones back in it worked still no lagg but then when someone called me i disconnected right away

have you tried un-plugging every machine conneccted via ethernet. dont unplug your xbox though. if that doesnt work just buy a wireless bridge for your xbox and buy a wireless router.

dude i have the exact same problem everytime my house phone rings my internet went off so no ps3

u have to get things to seperate all the things you use

picture it like this the ethernet cable is like only 1 lane on a motorway

and all the things goin into it are cars going onto the motorway sooner its gonna get busy - traffic - slow internet thus causing problems

its somethin wrong with your connections. that happens to me when many ppl in my house are using internet on their comps while im playing
