Then if you want, you can go ahead and open up your PS3 and examine your Blu-Ray drive and lens. I did this to mine and found out my laser had mysteriously been scratched during a MW2 session and ended up buying a replacement. If this happens to you and you do think about a replacement, make sure it is the correct laser (Dual vs. single lens, PS3 model and hard drive capacity, and shape of the laser)

If you do take apart your PS3 and Blu-Ray drive, make sure you have a big surface to keep screws organized and keep animals away. Also, be careful when you lift up some parts.

You can find the model number on the white serial number sticker on the back of your PS3 and also on the box.
