I can be playing a game then the screen will just go black and the audio stops. I dont think it is the tv because I can change to other channels and it works fine. The ps3 is still on and I think that the game is still playing because I can see the wireless still flashing.

I have tried taking out the hdmi cable and plugging it back in and i have tried using the second hdmi port (on the tv) but it is still black, the only way to get it back is to turn the ps3 off and on again, then it will work fine for a random amount of time before doing it again.

has anyone else had this problem? If so what did you do to fix it?

No idea try using the av output and see if it still has the problem

is it a blink or does it just complety go out

i had a problem something like this just do a restore.. thats what i ddid.

It's not a blink the screen stays black until I reset the ps3, but the tv recognises that the ps3 is still on because it doesn't go into standby.

I will try the av output to see if it still happens but I want to play in HD otherwise my tv is a wast of money!

try using the AV cables, maybe that will work?
