You don’t have to worry about that at all as Sony has revealed at GDC that real name IDs will be optional. PS4 players will have their real name ID and their normal PSN ID. They can choose which one is displayed for the world to see.


So you won’t have to link your Facebook account to your PS4 online profile either it seems.


This will probably make a lot of people happy.

Praise the god of gaming, Big Brother hasn't made traditional shit talking sloppy yet.

Also, i did NOT hear anything about real name ID's being available/implemented/optional.

Lol using your real name playing vid games?- Especially/god forbid competitive ones/COD? R.I.P. Thats just foolish, i run into all sorts of rage online, best part is when they call out your name when you kill X person several times lolol.

Then they PM you asking for a 1v1, best part ever. Hilarity ensues.

You can also find your friends using their real names too
Sort of like the social things they are adding.

Real names is stupid because some people dont want the world to see who they are. I took alot time with my gamer tag and i used it for years on pc.

then use it, if you read the post it says its optional.

I'm glad they decided to do this. Them implementing this feature was good, having it optional is better!
