With the next-generation consoles coming out which one should I get? All my friends are getting the PS4, but COD runs so much smoother on Xbox. Any suggestions? Should i stick with my friends or just get the xBOX 1

If you want to be a social outcast, pick the Xbox One. If not, pick the PS4.

Pick which one has the games you want.
From the specs both new consoles should run a ton better.

If you are mainly a COD player it's going to be difficult to recommend the Ps4 mainly because Microsoft pays hefty sums of money to keep map packs and developers on their side of the platform. If you are looking at a broader spectrum of games, I would pick the console that your friends are getting.
