Woo Twitter! President of Worldwide Studios, Sony Computer Entertainment, Shuhei Yoshida or @yosp on Twitter has confirmed that the day one update that the Playstation 4 requires can be downloaded in the background.

That being said, the update is 300mb isn't too taxing on most broadband connections.

In another tweet, he also confirmed that custom backgrounds will not be available on the system, wether this is just at launch or throughout the console's lifetime is unsure, but Yoshida did mention that users will be able to import their Facebook profile picture to use as their profile picture on the next generation console.

maybe its just for now, and they ll change that after with a patch

I'm not bother by having a custom themes until I get bored of the default one
