They very well may have some on release date. Do not listen to anyone that says it will be sold out everywhere I have never seen anything sold out 'everywhere'. There is always a store with extras around where I live. So check around to see if you can find one on release date. Now as far as restock is usually 1 to 2 weeks. Best buy isn't only store with them.

No. The system has been sold out for months now. All of you who waited until the last minute were told three times by Sony that if you wait, you MAY NOT get the system until after 2014. Your arguments are all irrevelavent. Good luck.
