(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); I have a small and maybe stupid question.

I'm thinking of buying a Playstation 4 when it comes out, but what kind of puts me off is what happened with the ps3 ie YLOD and the Xbox 360s RROD when they first came out.

Should you buy it now or wait a few months for another gen to come out which has 'problems' ironed out?

i never see the point in waiting, if it break its breaks, you'll have warranty and i know you know this.

if your going to buy it off a high street retailer then you could just take it into the shop the same day and get a brand new one straight away.

when i first got my 60gb ps3 it was fine for yearss, then i played gta iv for a solid day and it rlod on me, then the slims came out and i took my ps3 in and said it doesnt read discs so i could get a slim and ive not had a problem since.

maybe because i take somewhat care of my playstation's, i dont know. i always have it at the lowest shelf on my tv unit and ive always got a window open a touch just to ventilate the room, cold air goes nicely past my ps3 lol

imo id get one day one if i was you, i like seeing all the change and how much it progresses.

Technology is ten times better than it was when the PS3 came out. I've played probably about a maximum of 7 hours straight with this PS4, and I haven't heard the fan but ONE TIME when I was playing Killzone. And it was still exceptionally quiet. Your problems won't be this. If it is, it'll come within many years.

Don't get me wrong, I do take good care of my stuff just wouldn't want to pay for it then after the warranty ran out something would happen and it broke? When I had me PS3, it stopped reading Blu rays. I rang up Sony and they told me I would have to pay £180 (if I can remember rightly) to have it replaced.

Yeah, Lew Said it.

It really won't be different if there is another version of the PS4, which won't most likely come for years.

Also, the PS4 is just an absolute BEAST right now, been playing 5 hours, it's just great, no problems what so ever.

I might need to find a better position though, because mine is like right against a wall lol.

Cake is a lie
Honestly the majority of the trepidation in buying consoles right at release has as much to do with network and patch issues as it does with hardware failures. RROD was an Xbox issue and YLOD was so rare that I don't think it is relevant enough to fear.

I think that whole idea of "waiting until the kinks get ironed out" is sort of a way to convince ourselves we don't have to break our necks to try and get one. The lack of there really being any must have games outside of the franchises we're accustomed to on current gen would be a better reason to wait.

As was said before you have a warranty, most stores add additional warranties and the PSN has a warranty you can buy as well. Even with the RROD we don't know how people treated some of those consoles. Probably still stacking their TV on top of it, playing 20 hours straight and shit lol.

That's the only thing I wonder about the Xbox One. Being able to watch TV is cool and all but who wants to basically have their console on for multiple hours even when they're not actually playing something? That's asking for more issues.

Anyway, so yeah if you want one get PS4 asap. Unless finances, lack of truly must haves or the most likely issue scarcity of actual consoles to buy gets in your way just buy one. Some fear of the first round of consoles being doom to fail is overstated and honestly kind of stupid. It never stopped people from buying new Apple Products as soon as they are available. They're quality products but still so is Sony.
