Mine is bricked... I ordered it off amazon, it worked out of the box, played for a couple hour, put it in stand by. Started it up later played a couple more hours, shut it down all the way and went to turn it back on and just got the pulsing blue light.

Called Sony on Saturday, only spent an hour on hold... Now I'm waiting for a confirmation email so they can send me a box..

I've noticed some people claim they have gotten lucky and Sony is express airing the box to the customer and then back and same with the replacement system.

Glad I didn't purchase early launch models.

You know that may just be a compatibility issue? Sony have said check your TV is updated with the latest fw.. If it's connected to a home cinema check that also.

Worth a shot if you haven't already.

Thanks, but I have tried. 4 different TVs (all firmware up-to-date) 6 or 7 different hdmi cables.

I'm getting in touch with Sony again, to see why I haven't received the email; thinking the tech got my email wrong.

It's Amazon who you'll want to contact it's under the years warranty they should be like OK send it in and we'll have a look and replace.

You should be able to do it all in one phone call?

I had a friend who contacted them and they told him refund only; although on the support forums people are claiming Amazon says they will send replacement when they can... Only they ship by ground. Kind of scared to get another system from Amazon...

I'm waiting till the end of the day if I don't get my confirmation I will go through Amazon instead. Honestly, I think either route I'm going to end up waiting.

Personally I wouldn't listen to a friend, if my console broke I'd be ringing straight up. I'd wanna know what's going on.

Check local shops for stock and if there is any get a refund

People really need to to shut up about Sony not doing right or that it is terrible that PS4's are failing. The fact is, the system was manufactured outside of Sony for the very first time. It was by manufactured by Foxconn, and as ALL PC users know. This company is not that great at electronic hardware. Plus, and I love AMD but, AMD is known for having the more problem prone hardware. There are 290x's DOAing in the PC market and these are $550+ GPUs let alone a whole system. If you're upset that a $400 console is dying at around .4%, then play it safe and go play outside with some twigs and rocks. It's computer hardware, get used to it.

That all said, I wish everyone luck with their systems and good luck to the folks who drew the short sticks of the bunch.
