Was wondering if anyone had any idea or insight into when/if PS4 will support media playback from external sources?

I loved watching tv and movies on my external SSD/Thumbdrives on my ps3 and with ps4 i find myself unable to do so.

I Realize sony owns blu-ray, as well as many movie and music companies. I did not know if this is something they were yet to release an update for or if it was for monopolizing the ps4 further.

The ps4 will not support media from external devices etc usb's as of now but
As the PS4 is constantly being updated we could see this happen in a firmwqrevupdate

From what I have read and in making an educated guess we will most likely see this in 2014.

Yes i figured a firmware update of it just wasn't sure if they were trying to hook people on the services longer or legit just haven't had time to do it or weren't going to.
