Is doing all that ever really necessary though? It just seems like a generic thing we do when something doesn't work.

I mean aren't these type of errors generally game related and not system related? I do know there are times where game date can be corrupt or port forwarding for certain games, etc. But isn't deleting data, reformatting disc and the extreme things like a last ditch effort?

I only say this also because at my work whenever there is a computer issue the IT guys always just say reboot your computer as opposed to seeing if there is a case specific solution lol.

In my experience it does help sometimes a file gets corrupted and isn't readable causing all kinds of problems, ie my discs stopped being read on ps3 I rebuilt e database and it worked perfectly since lol

If in doubt reboot lol I used to do that all e the with my old shitty pc haha

Could it possibly be a custom hdd error? Could be worth finding out if these others have put their own hdds in.

It's not a custom HDD error. I get it quite a lot tbh on NFS and Ghosts was messing up the other day with this error.

Just to note I got the original HDD.
