well it seems i cant play ntsc games on my american xbox? is there something i can do about that?

i didnt flash it it has a mod chip some dude modded it for me (live in asia easy to do)


and my other problem is i get a play dvd with new games does my mod chip need updating like the shops say i should do or is it a scam?
