I reccomend doing the install with the micro controller. I wouldnt suggest doing it like some of the ones you see on you tube with just a peice of wire and a momentary switch. Ive done it and will never do it again. If your going to do it do it right or have someone do it right for you. What fun is a controller that you mod if it burns up shortly after you mod it??/ NONE... LoL You say it dont have a resistor? Are you reffering to the silver crystal diode in the center? If you have that its the old matrix controller. If it has the tiny orangeish yellow little block in the center its newer.
